Internationally Frozen Strawberries Hit Linyi Market Fresh

Frozen Strawberries

As hub functionality continues to improve and international cargo routes become more frequent, an increasing number of premium overseas fruits are entering the Chinese market, constantly enriching the "fruit baskets" of Chinese consumers. According to statistics from Linyi Customs, in the first four months of this year, our city imported 6,295.3 tonnes of frozen strawberries from Egypt and Chile, valued at 82.756 million yuan. This represents increases of 67.3% and 93.4% in volume and value, respectively.

It is understood that Egypt and Chile are currently the primary sources of frozen strawberries for China. Egypt's strawberry harvest season peaks from December to February, while Chile's frozen strawberry production is concentrated in the first half of the year. To ensure these frozen strawberries reach the Linyi market as early as possible, Linyi Customs has proactively communicated with enterprises, formulating a clearance work plan for fresh produce to enhance preparedness for special circumstances. They have strengthened staffing with business experts to strictly enforce inspection and quarantine controls. Leveraging the "green channel" for the clearance of fresh and perishable agricultural products, they have implemented integrated service measures such as "advance declaration + customs appointment + priority inspection". These efforts aim to minimize customs clearance time to the greatest extent, ensuring the efficient and rapid entry of imported frozen strawberries while guaranteeing biosafety and food safety.
